An innovative product architecture
- The logical separation of the application’s 3 tiers (display, processing and data) enables a highly modular architecture. In case of a single shop, all the components may be located on a single unit, but when large distribution networks need to be managed, these may be spread out over many servers. This architecture also allows you to easily manage the growth of a network without a change in the structure. With such flexibility in the architecture, the product can adapt to all the types of structures that make up a network, from branches to franchisees and affiliated brokers.
- The number of customer workstations can thus be kept to a strict minimum and the deployment phases rendered obsolete. Centralized administration of customer workstations allows you to distribute functional changes to the network in a completely transparent manner to the user (change in version, for example).
- Also, to ensure easier integration with available information systems, Cashmere© offers multiple database support (IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle).
- Real-time updating of centralized data allows you to transcend all communication constraints, downstream (price updates, promotions, special operations) as well as upstream (sending sales information mainly). This system makes it easier to manage network and gets rid of all the problems that have plagued previous generation systems.
- Real-time operation of course requires failure tolerance. Cashmere© includes mechanisms enabling information required for the sale to be hidden. Thus protected, with any loss in connection (central servers or links) a message indicating the problem will be displayed. You can continue all sales, management and cash register operations without exiting the transaction in progress and with no loss in functionality. The data is automatically resynchronized once the link is re-established. Another advantage of real-time is that it enables real-time network control applications. Cashmere© can thus make inventory and sales data available in real time, particularly on applications accessible to peripheral devices such as PDA via Cashmere© Wireless World that allow network managers to always remain in contact with information that is vital to them.
